Here are a few simple ways to get started with Heeding!
Sign up for the Heeding mailing list!
You will receive mailings that provide you with advocacy opportunities that include:
Communicating with your legislature (we’ll send you sample letters or legislative action that requires your attention).
Participating in local Gun Violence Awareness Days.
Taking part in interfaith worship services around Memorial to the Lost installations.
Prayer, regular donations, and/or sharing my story (either through writing or an interview)
We are an interfaith organization who recognizes and bears witness to the power of prayer. Please pray for us and the work that we do as well as an end to gun violence. Contribute to our work by clicking on the donation button. Share your story. Tell us why you care about opposing gun violence or how it has affected you. You can do this in writing or video or allow Heeding to interview you.
Participate in public witness events
Join us in a vigil at the site of a gun murder or outside a gun shop that is selling to straw purchasers.
Help set up Memorials to the Lost and organize Gun Violence Awareness days
A Memorial to the Lost is an event that honors those lives taken by gun murder. The Memorial is made up of t-shirts that have the name, date of death, and age at death of people taken by gun murder in your county.
Participate or start up a local chapter
Help us build a Memorial to the Lost in your city or town and start a movement in your county.
Contribute at the national level; special gifts—grant writing, fundraising, tech support (videography, website support), writers, policy, sharing my story
Share your special gifts with Heeding. We are always looking for help in the areas listed above.
